Featuring over 40 retail outlets, the WoMarkets is a precinct where patrons can explore and immerse themselves in the experience of cultures coming together to share their wares – inspired by the communal history of marketplaces, from the famous souks of Marrakesh, the Kapali Çarşı in Istanbul to Barcelona’s Las Ramblas.
This specially commissioned covered marketplace stretches over some 160 metres on Plane Tree Drive and is a key artery guiding festivalgoers through the many experiences which await discovery at the heart of the festival. Designed in collaboration with Australia’s leading specialists in future-focused tensile fabric structures, Tetrik.
Much like the amazing artists of WOMADelaide, the stalls at WOMADelaide are rich with diversity and opportunity. Representing a wealth of Australia's talented makers and creators with an emphasis on artisanship and ethical commerce, it's a place of unique momentos, ideas and conversations, and a platform for connection with fantastic not-for-profit organisations and community groups.
