Manager, Development and Philanthropy
Title: Manager, Development and Philanthropy
Termination Date: On-going (1 year contract)
Employment Type: Part time .5 / .7 (days of week in lead up and out of season may vary)
We know the right person doesn’t always fit neatly into a single job description.
That’s why we’re seeking expressions of interest in our search for someone who brings strength in at least one of the core areas of Business Development, Sponsorship and/or Philanthropy who also holds a willingness to grow across the rest. Whether your expertise lies in building partnerships, securing funding, or cultivating donor relationships, we’re open to shaping the role around your experience.
Within a small but mighty team, this role works closely, and collaboratively with Marketing, Publicity, and wider leadership to service and build a strong financial base.
For more than three decades, WOMADelaide has welcomed audiences to Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla, with over 45% travelling from interstate or overseas, contributing significant economic and cultural value to South Australia. In a shifting festival landscape, this role is central to strengthening our financial sustainability while staying true to our purpose as an independent, not-for-profit organisation ensuring we remain resilient, values-led, and committed to presenting a globally diverse artistic program.
Criteria (non-essential):
You are confident, collaborative and open to building meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in fundraising, partnerships and/or private income in the arts, cultural or not-for-profit sectors – with one core area of expertise.
- Interest in finding solutions to offset costs and increase revenue raising opportunities across key functioning areas.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- A genuine passion for the arts in community and cultural life and want to foster and build positive workplace relationships.
