Title: Bookkeeper
Events: WOMADelaide, Illuminate Adelaide & Arts Projects Australia (APA) touring
Commencement Date: June 2026
Term: 1 day a week with flexibility to increase in peak times. Initially a 6 month contract.
Reporting to: Administrator, Di Farrell
A part time accounting position providing accounting and taxation support across the key events of WOMADelaide and Illuminate Adelaide (festivals) and APA’s Touring projects.
The role requires advanced skills in the areas of taxation and competency with monthly organisational PAYG reporting to the ATO and reconciling STP reporting, quarterly BAS statements and additionally monthly payroll tax submissions and reconciliations.
Experience in operating and managing the MYOB accounting package, noting that experience in Xero can be transferred with training to the MYOB system.
In addition, solid experience and competence in MS Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and good written communication and email management skills is preferred. Alongside the taxation reporting as noted above, you will be required to undertake the reconciliation of bank accounts, payment of bills and associated accounting tasks. In peak periods Payroll tasks will also be required and training can be provided to support these requirements as needs be.
Initially 1 day per week is envisaged, with flexibility regarding particular days of the week for peak event periods and the ability to increase time/days during events when crew payrolls are processed.
References and experience:
You will have solid previous experience in Australian workplaces and be able to provide references which can be reference checked and be familiar with Australian taxation and payroll functions.
